Only a short half-day shift tomorrow and then I am on vacation! Yah!!
But only really if the flight leaves the airport! Grr!!
Today at work was interesting. Since most people aren't coming in for the usual outpatient things due to the crappy weather, I've been taking more phone calls. Usually I just take phone calls for either phone evaluations for heart failure patients who live far away, like Alaska or one of the many remote islands off the NW coast here. The other phone calls make up the "Emergent Nurse Line" phone calls, which can be anything to "I'm having a heart attack what I do I do" to my more favorite, "My big toe is hurting what do I do!! And I need help about it now! I see a tiny red spot on it!"
And just a thought in general:
If you're in your 80s, you have a history of heart problems, you're weak and fatigued in general, don't go out and shovel snow, OK? The cardiologists and orthopedic surgeons of the world don't need your Medicare insurance money that bad.
