The weather has been absolutely disastrous. First the blizzard like conditions, and now relentless rain. I've never seen this much rain for this long for this hard, and I was raised in Seattle! Sure, I'm used to a steady, gentle drizzle that lasts 100 days straight, but this feels like the Biblical flood.
It's almost exhilarating. In fact, it IS exhilarating. Even though the sky hangs low with ominous dark clouds, almost touching the housetops, the pounding rain is energizing. The constant media "state of emergency" chatter and mud slides and avalanches and roads turning into crumbled concrete rivers... it's like, wow, I'm here, I'm alive and my house is still standing, if but for a moment.
Moreover, God is a powerful creator. Nothing is permanent, even the tallest things are easily swept away and made flat by the current of time, we are here for but a brief moment and then - gone. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
