Found out my grandpa had another stroke, this time left-sided. So, he is stable right now. Still, we don't know what caused the first CVA a few years ago, that he has tried so so so hard to rehab from... and it seemed things were just getting better with mobility and heatlh and all that...
My nurse brain wants to know, what is causing these strokes? He is the most compliant pt., doing everything the docs want. So there must be some underlying cause that wasn't caught the first time.
My granddaughter brain is worried about him and my grandma. And my dad, 'cause he is upset about it, and it's hard to see dad upset. It almost doesn't register.
Also, this time around what if he doesn't recover - and if he does come out of it, what if it is too hard for him to even want to rehab all over again, this time with both sides of his body pretty much paralyzed.
Oh sigh. I just want to be with my family right now. I'm worried that this weekend might be my last goodbye.
